It’s hot!  How do you keep your plants alive in this heat? Remember to water early in the morning and in the evening.  You might consider adding an extra day in this heat.  That being said, we are all trying to conserve water so this might be a good time to consider a water-wise garden.  Check out the City of San Diego Water website for rebates.  We shared this information about a year ago.  We thought now with water conservation on everyone’s mind it might be a good time again.


The City of San Diego offers customers a turf replacement rebate of up to $1.25 per square foot of turf removed and replaced with water wise plant material (max. rebate is $3,000). Here is a link for more information.

In case you haven’t heard we have a new Potting station.  You can DIY or WDI (we do it) for a small fee:
$ 5.00 – 10″ pot or under
$15.00 – over 10″ pot
Cuttings are $2 and all other plants priced as marked
Soil FREE up to a 10″ pot
Larger pots soil priced at cost
Decorative stone   =  $1 per cup


Mother’s Day is May 11.  The perfect time to try out our new potting station.  Dads, bring the kids and pot up something special for mom.  The kids will love it and so will Mom!  May 9th and 10th come and pot something up for mom and receive a 15% discount.

Third Saturday Stroll in T-32 District is May 17.  Come by between 4-6 and check out our potting area.  We will be celebrating and experimenting with different cuttings and arrangements.

For the month of May we will be having weekly Tuesday specials with a 20% discount.  The weekly items are:

May 6 – houseplants
May 13- tools, gloves and fertilizers
May 20 – select pots
May 27 – succulents
